Back Pain
According to the NIH, 80% of adults experience back pain during their lifetime. It is one of the most common job-related disabilities and a leading factor to missed work days.
There are two types of lower back pain chiropractors treat these are acute and chronic lower back pain.
Acute lower back pain happens abruptly and can result from an accident or by lifting something heavy with a weak core and or bad posture. It is also associated with repetitive small traumas (micro traumas) and develop over time. Examples of this can be prolonged sitting, poor posture while lifting weights in the gym or at work at the desk. This type of pain can last for 4 to 12 weeks.
Chronic lower back pain is pain that persists for 12 weeks or longer. It is commonly seen as someone’s “back giving out” once or twice a year. Chronic lower back pain develops from acute lower back pain that is not treated properly becomes a degenerative form of lower back pain.
How Chiropractic care can help: Through a detailed spinal examination, the source of the pain is found and corrected. When the spinal bones are properly aligned pressure is relieved from the spinal cord, and discs.
